Logger Vick dreams that he is being chased by a huge carrot. He wakes up in fright and runs quickly but falls into a lake. The bear brothers, who are also at the lakeside, save him out of water and send him home. Vick gets a high fever and falls asleep. He dreams of his mother and takes Briar for his mom. He gets up to get his "mom" some tea. But Vick is so groggy that he does a series of dangerous things. To keep Vick safe, the bear brothers stay there to look after him. However, Vick seems to be unreasonably troublesome like a pampered kid. He asks for an apple and makes high demands on the apple's shape. He doesn't eat it until Briar cuts it into super small slices. He keeps crying because he wants the bear brothers to smell like rice just as his mother does. The bears have to cook a pot of rice porridge and get themselves wet by the vapor to obtain the odor of rice. Vick smells the scent of rice on them and believes his mom is around. Now, Vick is willing to eat the porridge. Under the care of the bears, Vick recovers soon.
